About Mental Health Outreach

Mental Health Outreach exists to make mental health information, treatment options, and support resources easier to find and understand.

Mental Health Outreach exists to make mental health information, treatment options, and support resources easier to find and understand. Navigating mental health care can be overwhelming, particularly when cost, insurance, provider availability, or uncertainty create additional barriers. Our goal is to connect individuals with credible information and resources so they can make informed decisions about their next steps.

What we do

  • Explain mental health conditions and treatment options in plain language.
  • Organize national organizations, treatment locators, and public assistance programs into one navigable directory.
  • Explain how to find care when you have insurance, when you do not, and when cost is a barrier.
  • Keep crisis resources prominent and easy to reach from every page.
  • Publish practical articles about finding care rather than generic motivational content.

What we are not

Mental Health Outreach is an informational and resource-navigation platform. We are not a medical provider, a crisis line, a treatment facility, or an emergency service. We do not diagnose conditions, prescribe medication, provide therapy, or monitor messages for emergencies.

We are not a government agency, and we are not affiliated with any of the organizations listed in our directory unless a formal relationship is stated explicitly.

How we choose resources

Every listing in our directory records the organization's official website, what services it provides, who it serves, geographic coverage, cost information where it has been verified, and when the listing was last reviewed. We link to official organizational websites rather than third-party summaries.

We distinguish between crisis services, educational organizations, treatment directories, peer support, and clinical providers, because those are very different kinds of help. A provider directory listing is not a clinical endorsement, and we say so wherever directories appear.

We do not list individual practitioners as verified providers, and we do not claim that a provider is licensed, accepting patients, or in-network with your insurance unless we have reliable supporting information.

Authorship and review

Articles display the author's name and, when a clinical review has been completed, the reviewer's name and credentials. We do not publish invented credentials, fictional reviewers, or fabricated testimonials. Where a contributor's biography has not yet been supplied for publication, the article shows the author name only.

Content that discusses psychiatric medication, suicide prevention, crisis response, or diagnosis is queued for review by a qualified clinical professional before it is published.

How we are funded

This website is operated as a public resource. If the organization later earns revenue through sponsorships, advertising, affiliate relationships, or paid listings, those arrangements will be disclosed clearly, and paid placements will never be presented as independent clinical endorsements.

Corrections

If you find an error, an outdated resource, or a listing that is no longer accurate, please contact us and select "Correct a Listing" or "Suggest a Resource." Corrections are reviewed by our editorial team, and significant corrections are reflected in the resource's verification date.
